Every July since 1947 the little Welsh town of Llangollen has played host to around 50,000 visitors to Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

Between 2000 and 5000 competitors from more than fifty countries perform at this world-famous festival of music, song and dance. With Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Kiri Te Kanawa, Lesley Garrett, Bryn Terfel, James Galway and Montserrat Caballe among the stars that have graced Llangollen’s stages. 2007 saw José Carreras perform at Llangollen for the very first time. And this year it’s the turn of West End and Broadway star Elaine Paige.
